Perry Homes Joins Arbor Day Foundation To Support Critical Forest Restoration In 2025
Perry Homes and the Arbor Day Foundation Celebrate Earth Day and Arbor Day with Reforestation Efforts in Texas and Florida.
HOUSTON, TX. (April 8, 2025) — As Earth Day approaches, Perry Homes, one of the region’s leading homebuilders, is joining forces with the Arbor Day Foundation to plant 100,000 trees across Texas and Florida in some of the nation’s most vital ecosystems.
Through this partnership, the new trees will be planted in Florida’s state forests and on private forestland across Texas. As the trees grow, the emerging forests will help address critical needs, including biodiversity and wildlife habitat restoration, while also increasing the ecological benefits these forests provide for the communities that depend on them. By investing in reforestation, Perry Homes is playing a vital role in supporting sustainability and preserving natural habitats for future generations.
“Forests and trees are fundamental to the health of our planet. As we approach Earth Day and Arbor Day and reflect on the importance of environmental stewardship, we believe that restoring forests is a key step in creating a more sustainable future,” said Dan Morrow, Vice President of Partnerships at the Arbor Day Foundation. “We are grateful to Perry Homes for their commitment to reforestation and for helping us make a tangible impact in Texas and Florida.”
As part of this partnership, a total of 100,000 longleaf pines will be planted – half in Florida and half in Texas. The longleaf pine ecosystem was once one of the most dominant forests in the southern U.S., covering more than 90 million acres. Today, it represents less than 3 percent of its original range, leaving behind a gap that has severely affected endangered and vulnerable local wildlife, such as the gopher tortoise, red-cockaded woodpecker, and eastern indigo snake. This reforestation effort will restore critical wildlife habitats, reduce forest fragmentation, and bolster climate resilience in both regions.
This collaboration with the Arbor Day Foundation aligns with Perry Homes’ broader commitment to environmental responsibility. In addition to building energy-efficient homes and prioritizing water conservation, Perry Homes is committed to creating communities that thrive in harmony with nature.
“At Perry Homes, we recognize the important role we play in preserving our planet,” said Todd Chachere, Chief Executive Officer of Perry Homes. “We’re proud to partner with the Arbor Day Foundation to support reforestation efforts that will benefit both the environment and our communities for years to come.”
