In a combined effort with Summerwood and HelpingAHero.org, Perry Homes recently welcomed U.S. Marine Corps Sgt. Richard Massimino and his family to their new home.
As part of HelpingAHero.org's Wounded Hero Home Program, Perry Homes designed and built a new home in Summerwood for Sgt. Massimino who was injured while serving in Iraq.
HelpingAHero.org works to provide new homes for veterans injured in Iraq or Afghanistan. Plans are in place to build more than 25 homes in eight states this year. Perry Homes built the inaugural home for the program in Cinco Ranch subdivision in Katy. TX, for U.S. Army Pfc. Kenny Adams, built another home for U.S. Marine Corps Cpl. Paul Gardner in the Riverstone community in Sugar Land, TX and is building a home for Cpl. Steven Schulz in the West Ranch community in Friendswood, TX.
"It is a privilege to be a part of this tremendous program honoring members of our military troops," said Jarod Mouton, Perry Homes Division President. "These men and women sacrifice so much to protect our rights and freedom. Their efforts are built on a solid foundation of strength and courage, and it is with pride that we are able to give something back to them. We are grateful to have this opportunity to thank Sgt. Massimino."
As part of the program, Perry Homes' professional team of designers modified existing plans to fit the needs of the soldiers. In Summerwood, Perry Homes built Plan 2785W for Sgt. Massimino and his family. The home offers the solider four bedrooms and three baths in 2,785 square feet.
